Samsung had all the eyes on them when they sent out a new update that only locked some users with the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10 Plus phones out of their devices. It only got worse were resting of the device could only have a factory rest offer.
The owner of one of these Samsung stated, “I updated my phone with the latest software update, When it restarted it asked me for a password to access my device even though I have never set up my phone with a password to access it—I’ve talked to Verizon and Google support and both recommend a factory reset.”.
Samsung’s response was the same as usual from there care ambassador apologizing for what was going on and offering to reboot the phone so that the factory could rest the device for them.
This left customers and users furious noting to Samsung that this was not a solution and wiping all the data from there phones would have only just been a simple glitch.”I updated my phone with the latest software update,” reported one owner on Samsung’s support site. “When it restarted it asked me for a password to access my device even though I have never set up my phone with a password to access it—I’ve talked to Verizon and Google support and both recommend a factory reset.”It would be ideal for everyone to install their updates right away but completely no usage makes it much harder to do not knowing the outcome.
“But in instances like this where the update actually makes your phone unusable, it’s not hard to see why many people wait to install these updates. And in this case, it’s a good idea not to update your Galaxy S10 yet, at least until Samsung is able to fix the issue.”
This is nothing new for Samsung hitting the headlines with different things like battery fires, flimsy screens. The issue now appears to be hitting selected users and more contained.
Some advice would be that before you get ready to apply a full update you should always first back your phone up just so worse comes to worst you would not be losing anything.
There are still no specifics out on the number of people affected by this problem.
